Chancellor's Message 8/29/21

Dear OPA Families,
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases and the increased transmissibility of the Delta Variant, it was decided
that this year’s University Orientation will be virtual. We want to ensure that this large family event does not
lead to a rise in cases at OPA and a disruption to the learning environment.
Oxford Preparatory Academy’s University Orientation (Back to School Night) will be held VIRTUALLY on
Wednesday, September 1, 2021 for students at OPA- SOC. This day will be a minimum day with classes ending
at 12:30 pm for all students.

OPA Update

I hope that you all had a wonderful start to the school year! It was great seeing all the excited champions as they returned to school last week. We are all so grateful to be able to have in person instruction to start the year and have so many of our champions back on campus. Our teachers and staff have worked incredibly hard to make this an amazing return to school for our champions and families!

OPA Update August 27, 2021

Thank you for a wonderful first full week of school!! It was great seeing all our champions this week and the wonderful classroom activities happening across both campuses and our virtual learning program.

Chancellor's Message 8/22/21

I hope that this message finds you and your family safe and healthy. First, I want to thank all of you for your
continued patience and cooperation as we fine-tune our arrival and dismissal procedures. We will continue to
monitor these processes and make necessary changes to ensure student safety and increase overall efficiency.
We had a fantastic week on campus! I had the opportunity to visit each classroom this week. Our Champions
were engaged in community building activities led by our professors. The purpose of these activities is to build
a strong foundation and connection within the classroom. Our Professors and Champions developed their
classroom expectations as part of our school wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports(PBIS)

First Day of School Message 8/18/21

Our Champions had a wonderful 1st day back to school. When I saw a total of 852 Champions entering the campus building. It
was a moment of delight and excitement! The campus was vibrant again with students’
cheerfulness. We acknowledge that there are areas for improvement in the drop off and pick up procedures.
Please be patient and understanding as we make adjustments to improve our practices.

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! I hope all of you had a wonderful and safe summer with your loved ones. I am delighted that you are part of this amazing OPA community. It was a pleasure to see so many of you at the “Meet Your Professor'' event where our professors had the opportunity to meet you and our Champions.

Chancellor's Message 8/7/21

Dear OPA Families,
We are excited for our upcoming event where our Champions and families will have the opportunity to Meet Your Professor. The purpose of this event is to help our professors build a bond with our Champions and families, establish a university theme and to ease the pressure and anxiety of the first day of school for all.

OPA Message 7/23/2021

Dear OPA Families, Recent legislation requires that we inform you of your right to enroll your student in either an in-person instruction setting or have a virtual learning option for the 2021-2022 school year, if your child is part of our regular seat-based program. (This legislation does not apply to students currently enrolled in our Independent Study program). Since most of our enrolled families have already selected either our seat-based, in-person model or our OPA Virtual Learning program, this communication serves as a reminder only.

OPA Message 7/16/2021

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer break. The OPA staff is busy working on preparations for the upcoming school year, and excited to have our students back on campus for a full day of instruction. We are looking forward to a strong focus on academic achievement, engaging educational experiences and projects based on students’ multiple intelligences, building social and emotional strength, and continuing to enhance and strengthen our OPA community.
