Champion Families, We had another wonderful and exciting week at SOC. Every week Mrs. Merlette and I make a point to visit all classrooms on campus. We want our Champions to know we are invested in their education and it is so exciting for them to show off what they have been learning in class. This week we saw 6th graders designing and creating their own civilizations, 4th graders engaging in different MI activities to work collaboratively to review math concepts, and our PAL students teamed up to offer Cross-age Tutoring.

Champion Families, It seems that September is flying by! I hope your Champion(s) are enjoying school as much as our staff has. By now, we have all settled into a routine and a lot of learning is taking place. I have been blown away by the learning opportunities our Champions have been engaged in throughout the past week. From building catapults to study kinetic energy to art projects in the STEAM lab and learning about rhythm and sounds with Mr. T, it has been an exciting week! Parent/Professor conferences are right around the corner. Professors will be sending out a Calendly link on Friday for parents to sign up.

Champion Families, Thank you to everyone who joined us at University Orientation. It was a wonderful event and I know professors were thrilled to be able to host it in person. If you did miss the event, your child’s professor will share their presentation with you so you have all the information. In addition, for those of you who were unable to attend the Administration Sessions, I have linked the presentation HERE. On Friday, we kicked off our CHAMP “Five For Friday” raffle. Students were able to redeem their scholarships online to be entered into this week’s raffle. Congrats to all our winners!

Dear OPA Families, What an amazing week! We kicked off our second week of school with our WOW (Week of Welcome) events. The focus of WOW was to help our Champions make connections, learn more about OPA SOC, and get excited about upcoming clubs that will be available on campus. On Monday, our ASB students had their first assembly of the school year. They did a wonderful job highlighting our songs of the month, character trait, and GATE icon. Champions who exhibited exceptional behavior on campus were selected to compete in a game that earned the winning class 10 extra minutes of recess.

OPA Champion Families, It’s hard to believe that the first week of school is officially behind us. I am so humbled by the amount of support and encouragement our staff have heard as we officially kicked off the 2022-2023 school year! We are so excited for our first official WOW (Week of Welcome) to take place during this second week of school. Our staff, Honour Society, ASB, and PAL students have been busy planning a variety of activities for our Champions to engage in throughout the week. We will be introducing different OPA traditions while building a sense of belonging for all students on campus.

Dear Champion Families, The first week of school is officially here. On behalf of our entire OPA Staff we could not be more excited to welcome our Champions back to school on Wednesday, August 17th. I know the first day can be filled with mixed emotions for many parents, but one thing I can assure you is that your child is in great hands. You will soon learn that OPA will become their home away from home. It’s where they are supported, cared for, and safe.

Hello Champion Families, It is hard to believe that the first day of school is only 10 days away! Our professors and staff will have a busy week as they report back to campus to participate in different professional development opportunities and get their classrooms ready for the 17th. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Meet Your Professor and on Saturday for our first Campus Beautification event. Even if you can only come for an hour, it is a great way to get to know other families and staff.

Our team is hard at work getting ready for the first day of school on August 17th. I would like to give a special shout-out to our maintenance and custodial staff for working tirelessly to ensure our campus is looking its best. I am eager to begin this school year and welcome our Champions and families back on campus starting with Meet your Professor August 12th, our first Campus Beautification Day August 13th, and then on August 17th when the 2022-2023 school year officially begins! Dear OPA-SOC Families,
I hope everyone has been having a memorable and relaxing summer. The 22-23 school year is less than a month away but I wanted to take a moment to ensure that all families have all the information they need to have a successful and stress free start to the school year. This message will contain everything you need to know prior to our first event which is Meet Your Professor, on August 12th. Please make sure you read through all of the information.

We hope you have a wonderful summer with your family! We had a fantastic year and we will miss our Champions. Today was the last day for our professors and they will be taking a much needed break. Our professors will not be responding to emails during their break but if you need assistance, please reach out to the administration team, we will be happy to assist you.
