Dear OPA Families,

It has been a great week at OPA! Students are getting into the swing of thigs with the virtual and hybrid classes and it has been fun to see all of the great learning happening at each campus.

We had a wonderful English Language Advisory Committee meeting on Tuesday evening. Ms. Didion shared information regarding our English Learner program and the different supports available to help our English learners excel academically. Next week at our Board meeting, we are excited to honor our students who have recently been reclassified as English Language Proficient.

As we head into the holiday season, I want to remind all families to please be safe and practice good hygiene and social distancing. We want to ensure that we are able to keep our campuses open for in-person instruction for those who want it, but that can only happen if we are all following health and safety guidelines. Currently cases are rising throughout the country and in Orange County. All of our surrounding counties are currently in the Purple, or most restrictive tier. If Orange County falls into the Purple tier, we do not have to automatically revert to 100% virtual learning. However, if 5% or more of our staff and students become positive for COVID-19, we will have to move to an all virtual learning model. Therefore, it is important that we all work together to stop the spread and keep OPA safe. Please make sure to keep your student home and contact the school if he or she has any COVID-19 symptoms. Additionally, we understand that some parents are feeling uneasy about continuing with hybrid learning. If you would like to change your student to virtual learning, please reach out to your school chancellor or dean and we will make the switch.

Thank you all for making OPA such an amazing place for all of our champions! Have a wonderful weekend!
