Dear OPA Families,
We hope that you are having a wonderful weekend! We are excited to announce that our programs and
traditions on campus are coming back to life!
Last week was our first week of football and Volleyball practice. Our coaches and Champions were excited
to have these practices. It was great to see the coaching, engagement and sportsmanship during practices. Our first TK& Kinder Meet-Up is this Friday at 1:00-2:30 p.m. at Barcelona Park (next to the school). All current
TK&K parents are invited.

Congratulations to the OPA Community! We are excited to announce that SOC has won the OC
Parenting Reader’s Choice Award for Best Charter School in Orange County! This recognition
is a testament to the commitment, dedication and love for our school by our entire OPA

OPA Update 9/10/2021

Thank you all for an amazing first month of school! It has been great having our champions back and implementing some of the things that have had to be put on hold over the past 18 months. As we continue to get the 2021-22 school year underway, our students and professors have been busy with diagnostic assessments, building their classroom communities, learning new curriculum, and putting the great professional development organized by Dr. Henry into action in the classrooms. It is also very exciting to see all the creative MI activities professors have been implementing, including choice boards, MI class groupings, and outdoor learning activities, etc.

Chancellor's Message 9/5/21

Dear OPA Families,

Thank you for joining us on Wednesday for University Orientation. We had hundreds of families join us for the general information session with Dean Velez and myself. If you did not have the opportunity to join us, please visit our website to view the presentation. The night was followed by great informational presentations by our dedicated professors.

Chancellor's Message 8/29/21

Dear OPA Families,
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases and the increased transmissibility of the Delta Variant, it was decided
that this year’s University Orientation will be virtual. We want to ensure that this large family event does not
lead to a rise in cases at OPA and a disruption to the learning environment.
Oxford Preparatory Academy’s University Orientation (Back to School Night) will be held VIRTUALLY on
Wednesday, September 1, 2021 for students at OPA- SOC. This day will be a minimum day with classes ending
at 12:30 pm for all students.

OPA Update

I hope that you all had a wonderful start to the school year! It was great seeing all the excited champions as they returned to school last week. We are all so grateful to be able to have in person instruction to start the year and have so many of our champions back on campus. Our teachers and staff have worked incredibly hard to make this an amazing return to school for our champions and families!

OPA Update August 27, 2021

Thank you for a wonderful first full week of school!! It was great seeing all our champions this week and the wonderful classroom activities happening across both campuses and our virtual learning program.

Chancellor's Message 8/22/21

I hope that this message finds you and your family safe and healthy. First, I want to thank all of you for your
continued patience and cooperation as we fine-tune our arrival and dismissal procedures. We will continue to
monitor these processes and make necessary changes to ensure student safety and increase overall efficiency.
We had a fantastic week on campus! I had the opportunity to visit each classroom this week. Our Champions
were engaged in community building activities led by our professors. The purpose of these activities is to build
a strong foundation and connection within the classroom. Our Professors and Champions developed their
classroom expectations as part of our school wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports(PBIS)

First Day of School Message 8/18/21

Our Champions had a wonderful 1st day back to school. When I saw a total of 852 Champions entering the campus building. It
was a moment of delight and excitement! The campus was vibrant again with students’
cheerfulness. We acknowledge that there are areas for improvement in the drop off and pick up procedures.
Please be patient and understanding as we make adjustments to improve our practices.
